INTERTECHNIQUE

Monitoring and management systems for critical aircraft functions.

This department offers more than 50 years' experience in the management and monitoring of a host of on-board systems for the world's manufacturers of aircraft and helicopters. Its highly skilled engineers can therefore define system architecture tailored to aircraft requirements, while incorporating safety demands and certification requirements.

This department fully masters the technology of the four integral parts of a system :

  • Sensors for measuring physical values such as temperature, density, levels, flow, angular position and amperage, or the detection and measurement of ice thickness,
  • Actuators such as air conditioning valves and air doors
  • Man-machine interfaces such as analog and digital indicators (traditional or liquid crystal), control units and panels,
  • The computers forming the core of the systems. Using dedicated high security, advanced language software, they process all data circulating between sensors, actuators and the man-machine interface in real time. They also form a link with other aircraft systems or subsystems via digital buses.

Intertechnique has developed worldwide acknowledged skills in the following areas :

  • Fuel quantity measurement, fuel level detection, fuel flow measurement and fuel systems,
  • Oil quantity measurement systems,
  • Air conditioning, cabin air temperature control and cabin air pressure control,
  • Monitoring and control of :
    • Window heating (window heat control systems),
    • Anemometric probe heating,
    • Engine fire and bleed air detection,
    • Hydraulic systems,
    • Engine bleed air (bleed air control and monitoring systems),
    • Power distribution and networks,
    • Ice detection (WCMS: wing contamination monitoring system).

The main types of equipment used in these areas are :

  • Sensors :

Fuel quantity measurement probe (fuel tank probes), oil tank probes and hydraulic fluid tank capacitance probes (metal or metal composite). The probes are fitted using brackets or flanges and may be equipped with signal-processing electronic circuits.

Capacitance or thermistor level detector probes fitted on the tank walls or on fuel measurement probes. These are used for fuel and oil (oil level detector).

Impeller flowmeter which delivers a signal proportional to the volumetric or massic flow (transmitter).

Thermistor or platinum temperature sensor. Thermostats and humidity sensors (temperature monitoring and temperature and humidity measurements).

Ice thickness measurement probe.

  • Actuators :

    Linear actuators with stepper motors and ball screws for bleed air valves.

    Rotating actuators for valves with DC electric motors and stepper motors.

  • Indicators :

    LCD indicators and needle gauges for displaying various parameters :

    • fuel quantity and flow,
    • electrical parameters,
    • temperature,
    • engine parameters,
    • rotor and free power turbine speed,
    • ice thickness,
    • air pressure parameters,
    • rotation speed.

  • Electronic boxes :

    These are mainly real-time digital computers ensuring the following types of function :

    • parameter measurement,
    • control,
    • measurement and discrete information monitoring,
    • coupling to different types of bus: ARINC 429, RS 232, 422 or 485, MIL 1553, CAN, AFDX, etc,
    • data storage for maintenance purposes.

    Optronics and image processing

    Intertechnique's technological skills in this area cover optronic sensors, software and simulation including on-board electronics, image processing and trajectory tracking.

    It has been able to develop and consolidate its skills in the following areas over the last few years :

    • On-board optronic systems (Rubis Flir for combat aircraft),
    • Target characterization using thermal imagery (modeling, detection, recognition, etc.),
    • Ammunition optronics (155 Bonus Program, etc.),
    • Optronic systems simulation.

    Humidity sensors and transmitters, and anemometers

    Intertechnique designs and produces temperature probes for controlling and measuring temperature :

    • Thermostatic probes,
    • Thermistor or platinum probes.

    Intertechnique offers a range of products for measuring temperature, humidity and air flow in industrial applications. It proposes the following brands :
